Who else thought that they’d never see the words “Windows 8” and “leaked” in the same sentence again? Me neither, but it’s happened again. This time, a Chinese version of the Release Preview (build 8400) has appeared on the internet. The downside, it isn’t English, so this leak probably isn’t going to be popular for English speaking people.
The ISO is named 8400.0.WINMAIN_WIN8RC.120518-1423_X64FRE_CLIENT_ZH-CN-HRC_CCSA_X64FRE_ZH-CN_DV5.ISO, which confirms that the language is Chinese, and the build was compiled on the 18th of May at build 8400. A user by the name of Canouna from WinUnleaked has also confirmed that the ISO is indeed real. Many have also installed the build already, claiming too that it is real. So, it’s pretty much real if you were doubting it. The ISO requires a setup key for install, much like the Consumer Preview. The build is available for download now on non official Microsoft servers. The official version of this build is expected to launch at either the end of this week, or sometime in the next. The build is expected to launch with more than 1 SKU, and will be available in English.
We got our hands on this build. Check out the screenshots here or check out the video walk-through here.
