Microsoft is releasing a pair of new Windows 11 Insider builds today, with 23531 coming for the Dev Channel along with a new Canary Channel build, 23936.

In the Dev Channel build, there’s not much new, except for one fairly significant change: moving forward from 23531, Windows system components will now use the default browser (ie: Chrome) to open links, instead of being tied to using Edge. This change only occurs if your machine is set to the EEA (European Economic Area), however.

This build re-introduces the annoying-to-some experience where hovering over the “search box gleam” in the taskbar invokes a search flyout, but you can adjust this behavior in Taskbar settings.

There are a number of fixes and known issues in the build, too, be sure to check out the blog post for all the details.
