The next installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise finally has a release date along with a first gameplay reveal. One of the many games showcased during yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will celebrate the IPs 15-year anniversary when it releases on October 12.
As will probably become immediately evident in the gameplay trailer, Mirage will mark a return to the series’ roots. As Ubisoft’s Maïté Hayet explains over on the PlayStation Blog,
For the 15th anniversary of the brand, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to make a game going back to our roots, in terms of gameplay, visuals and stories – making our players feel nostalgic and excited to experience a new adventure as Basim, while immersing them in the vibrant Golden Age of Baghdad.
As you can see from the trailer, the game looks stunning despite not being exclusively current-gen. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as well as PlayStation 4/5 and Windows PC. Preorders are now available.
