The Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950XL, Microsoft’s flagship phones due out in just a few weeks, have both received price drops on the UK Microsoft Store. Both phones, without any sort of announcement or explanation, have had £50 shaved off of their price. The Lumia 950 XL now costs £529.99 including VAT, and the Lumia 950 now costs £449.99 including VAT.
This is not, however, a universal price drop. There has been no change in the price of the phones in the United States at this time despite the shift in UK prices. In the absence of any comment from Microsoft, it’s anybody’s guess what could have brought on this price change. It could be that there was an error with pricing initially that they had to fix, or it could very well be that this change wasn’t intentional at all. Until Microsoft has done something to officially address the change in the Lumia’s pricing, nobody can be sure.
