David Wiener, former Fear the Walking Dead executive producer, is at the forefront in spearheading the second season of Halo’s TV series, according to an announcement made on a blog post.
Based on information gathered from multiple outlets, such as The Hollywood Reporter, David is the top pick for Paramount Plus as the perfect replacement for Steven Kane, season one’s executive producer.
In an interview with Paramount Plus Television Critics Association panel, Justin Falvey, Amblin Television’s co-president said that the move was only viable if the was going to be another season for the show. He also indicated that in the end, the main goal was to have multiple seasons of the show.
Once David is onboarded, he will be the third executive producer to run Halo’s adaptation. Kane, the outgoing executive producer, first got to work on the project as an assistant to Kyle Killen. He later took over after Kyle left, back in 2018.
Here’s what Kane had to say about his departure from the Halo series:
“As much as I enjoyed working on it, it’s a long time to be away from my family [filming in Hungary], and my kids were in the final years of high school, and I didn’t want to leave again. While making Halo will go down for me as a career highlight, I could only do it for one season.”
Return of Halo series
Come March 24, the Halo series will make its return to Paramount Plus in the US. However, they have not provided any additional information concerning international release dates or on the platforms, it will be available. However, this is heavily dependent on the continuation of the show. The flow of the story and continued support from the fans is also essential.
What to expect
If the trailer released is anything to go by, there are indications that the show occurs in an alternative timeline. The main focus of the series seems to be the quest for the Halo ring, essentially before the Covenant alien alliance manages to lay hands on it.
Fans will also get to see the show unfold as it ventures into the SPARTAN-II program and whether the kidnapped recruits are still clinging to their humanity.
Guess we will have to wait till its official release to find out more. What are your expectations of the new Halo series? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
