LinkedIn has launched this week a new InCareer jobs app for the Chinese market, which follows the announcement two months ago that the localized version of the professional social network would disappear at the end of the year. InCareer marks the beginning of new strategy for LinkedIn in China, with a straightforward jobs app that lacks the LinkedIn social features that had become a “challenging operating environment” in the country.
InCareer is available on the web and also has dedicated iOS and Android apps, and the service will let Chinese mainland professionals find and apply to jobs in the country. “While InCareer will not include a social feed or the ability to share posts or articles, members can update their new look profiles and be discovered and messaged by recruiters, meaning their dream job can find them,” the company explained.
China remains a big market for LinkedIn, and the company will continue to offer its Recruiter and Marketing solutions for organizations operating in China. “Over the coming months we will build on this foundation, with feedback from our members and customers, to develop a world-class experience,” the company said today.
