Microsoft has just announced a new Surface event on Wednesday, September 22nd at 11 AM ET. The software giant revealed yesterday that Windows 11 would be available on new and existing devices starting October 5, and this event should be a good opportunity for the company to reveal new Surface devices powered by Windows 11.
The teaser image for the event uses a Surface tablet with its familiar kickstand and detachable keyboard, but we may not just see a new Surface Pro 8 on September 22. A benchmark for what could be the Surface Go 3 was recently spotted on Geekbench, and a previous report also suggested that the company was planning a big update for the Surface Book line, with a new “Pro” device possibly taking its place.

Microsoft made a noteworthy comeback in the mobile market last year with its dual-screen Surface Duo, and the first pictures of the Surface Duo 2 have also leaked a couple of weeks ago. The new mobile device should bring a triple camera system to the table as well as top-of-the-line specs, and we hope that Microsoft has also made progress on the OS front after many early adopters of the original Surface Duo complained about Android bugs.
Over the past couple of years, we have gotten used to seeing Microsoft hold Surface events in early October, but this year will be different with a late September event.
