Quake is being re-released on PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass today

Quake, the cult-classic shooter released on PC back in 1996 is being re-released on all platforms today to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The new enhanced version of the game is now available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Game Pass, featuring up to 4K resolution and 120Hz support on compatible platforms.

Players can expect several visual updates including enhanced models, dynamic lighting, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and more, as well as support for local and online co-op for up to four players. Cross-play multiplayer is also supported, allowing up to 8 players to up to battle in custom matches and also enjoy dedicated servers for online matchmaking.

This enhanced version of the game also includes the game’s original single-player campaign, original expansions, as well as two new campaign add-ons created by Wolfenstein developer MachineGames. Quake is free to play with Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC starting today, and the game is also available via Xbox Cloud Gaming. Last but not least, Quake II and Quake III: Arena are also available with Xbox Game Pass for PC in their original form.
