Following the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update earlier this week, Microsoft has announced that they will be discontinuing their special extended refund offer for the video game on Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles next month on July 6th.
Microsoft began giving full refunds to Cyberpunk 2077 buyers in December of last year after the game launched in a state that didn’t reflect what was promised in its marketing and made it almost unplayable on last-gen consoles such as the Xbox One and PS4.
Digital video games purchased from the Microsoft Store online storefront for Xbox consoles can usually be refunded if requested within 14 days of purchase. With Cyberpunk 2077, Microsoft was accepting refund requests from anyone regardless of when they bought the title.
“The team at CD PROJEKT RED continues to work hard to improve the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox players and has made a number of updates,” the official support page reads. “Given these updates, Microsoft will be returning to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6 for both new and existing purchases.”
