Last month, Microsoft released PowerToys version 0.37 with plenty of improvements to the suite of tools, including PowerToys Run and FancyZones. Today, the company is rolling out a maintenance update that fixes two critical bugs introduced in version 0.37 that affected the stability of the app.

More precisely, PowerToys version 0.37.2 brings enhancements to the Power Renamer utility and addresses an event handle leak issue in the Keyboard manager tool. “This is patch release to fix two regression bugs in 0.37.0 we deemed important for stability based on user feedback,” said Clint Rutkas, Program manager lead on PowerToys.

Here is the full changelog for PowerToys version 0.37.2:

  • #11068 – Power Rename freezes & resets explorer.exe after latest update
  • #11162 – Event handle leak in PowerToys.KeyboardManagerEngine.exe

As for the Video Conference Mute tool, it’s still not clear yet when it will be available for the general public in the stable releases. If you are interested in trying out PowerToys on Windows 10, you can download the latest version directly from the GitHub release page. However, it is worth noting that users running the experimental version will not receive this update.
