Rumor has it that Windows 10X is currently destined for new lightweight PCs for education and commercial customers only, but that doesn’t mean you can’t already install it on any existing PC you own — at least, unofficially. A developer has released a tool that helps make it easier to install the recently leaked Windows 10X build on almost any PC or Windows tablet (via XDA Developers.)
It's here ???? Device Image Generator lets you create 10X images in only a few clicks. There's driver compatibility improvements under the hood, meaning broken WiFi or Audio should be taken care of. There's also something for the VM enthusiasts.

The work is thanks to the Twitter user Albacore, who managed to create a “Device Image Generator.” tool. The tool is used to install Windows 10X on an unsupported device, by creating what’s known as a Full Flash Update package (FFU.) This helps solve the problem of there not being a universal installer for Windows 10X, as the OS is not intended for people to install manually.
It can pull the drivers for your PC, and place them in an image, and also a configuration package. It is important to note, though, that there are no UUP files included, and you’ll need to download that separately to get things working.
Of course, we don’t recommend installing an unsupported operating system on your device, but if you’re the brave type, you can take the risk of trying it out. Windows 10X was already spotted running on the Surface Pro 7, and even a MacBook, and even a Lumia 950. It’s great to see the level of enthusiasm from the Windows community, and the activism to bring WIndows 10X to the wild.
