In July, Microsoft announced that it’s adding a dark mode to OneDrive on the web, but it was not clear exactly when the feature will be available for users. This week, the company has announced via Microsoft 365 Admin center that it will start rolling out dark mode in early January 2021.
As a reminder, Microsoft started testing a dark mode in its Android app last year, and it made it generally available in February 2020. The company is now planning to release this feature for all web users (both personal and commercial accounts) next month. This move will bring the OneDrive web app in line with its iOS/Android apps and various other platforms.
Overall, the new dark mode experience will be a welcome change for users who prefer less bright interfaces, and it will help reduce eye strain. Do you think that the arrival of dark mode will eventually improve battery life on your PCs? Let us know in the comments down below.
