Microsoft has just released new optional updates for older versions of Windows 10, including the October 2018 Update (version 1809). Those of you still running this version of the OS can install the build 17763.1131 today, and you can learn more about the highlights below:
- Updates an issue that causes an error when printing to a document share.
- Updates an issue that prevents the touch keyboard from appearing during sign in when the user is prompted for the password.
- Updates an issue that causes calendar dates to appear on the wrong day of the week in the clock and date region of the notification area when you select the Samoa time zone.
- Improves application and device compatibility with Windows updates.
As a reminder, Windows 10 version 1809 will reach end of support for Home and Pro users in May, and Microsoft has already started to upgrade these PCs to the latest version of Windows 10. The software giant has also released optional patches for Windows 10 versions 1803, 1709, and 1703 today, but these are only available for Enterprise and Education users.
Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 will likely get their own optional patches soon, and we’ll let you know as soon as the updates are out. Keep in mind that you’re still free to skip these updates and wait for next month’s Patch Tuesday.
