Microsoft Teams is getting support for Live captions, allowing participants to Teams meetings to view captions when other people are talking. The Microsoft 365 roadmap lists the feature as coming in November 2019, but Microsoft MVP Tony Redmond is reporting today that the feature is already available in preview in the desktop app.

Enabling Live captions is currently opt in, and you can do it from the ellipsis (…) on the bottom bar when you’re in a meeting. However, Office 365 admins will need to enable the feature first in the Teams Admin centre.

English will be the first supported spoken language for Live Captions once the features become generally available next month. Many other new features are currently in development for Microsoft Teams, including, as well as the ability to pin select channels in the app for easier access .
