Microsoft has updated its Whiteboard app on Windows 10 on iOS with new background colors and more this week (via Windows Central). There’s a new black background color that is much easier on the eyes, and there are also new options for customizing ink color and thickness.
Following the launch of Whiteboard for Education last month, users who log in with an EDU account will also be able to save whiteboards to a OneNote Class Notebook. To try this feature, you’ll need to enable ”Education Preview” from the Settings menu.
Here are the full release notes for this latest update:
- Customize your ink color and thickness with new pen colors and thickness levels.
- Change your board background color and gridline pattern. Includes the option for a black background to reduce eye strain.
- Type text directly on your board to let those without pen or touch contribute more easily.
- Send whiteboards directly to your OneNote Class Notebooks for safe keeping (EDU accounts only).
Microsoft has been adding a dark theme option to more and more of its apps recently, including Sticky Notes and Office for Mac. The redesigned Outlook app for iOS which started rolling out this week will also soon get a dark mode. As for Microsoft Whiteboard, we’re glad to see that it can now finally look like a digital version of old-school blackboards.
