Microsoft’s Future Decoded event is still ongoing in London, and at the event this morning the company announced two new customer partnerships in the UK. First of all, the health agency NHS Scotland will deploy Office 365 to all of its 161,000 employees, moving away from a complicated organization that included more than 100 separate computer systems.
The transition will allow NHS Scotland to cut waiting times and improve patient care, and the organization also plans to migrate its computer systems to Windows 10 E5 over the next three years. This will allow the health agency to take advantage of new security features such as Advanced Threat Protection, which will strengthen its defenses against potential cybersecurity attacks.
The second local organization that has formed a new strategic partnership with Microsoft is Centrica, the British energy and services company behind brands like British Gas, Dyno and Direct Energy. Centrica plans to transform field operations by leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 and artificial intelligence, providing employees with real time and actionable insight so they can improve customer service.
