March Madness to be live streamed on Windows Phone, Windows 8

The month of March is right around the corner, and any self-respecting sports fan knows what that means. March Madness, otherwise known as the annual NCAA basketball tournament. We’ll ignore the obvious betting ramifications that come along with that, and focus on the actual games. This year the college sports organization is bringing apps to both Windows 8 and Windows Phone, allowing users to live stream the action.

“Produced by Turner Sports, NCAA March Madness Live will introduce redesigned product features including a new bracket layout, a redesigned GameCenter experience, new Bracket Challenge game and enhanced social features, and will be available to consumers for the first time on the Windows Store” the organization announces.

The annual app isn’t new, but it’s new to the Windows Platform — both Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Phone will get the service, while Android and iOS will get updated versions for the 2014 tournament.

“NCAA March Madness Live will once again provide video highlights, full game replays and excitement alerts, as well as fan-favorite features including live game scoring, real-time Championship brackets, personal channel lineup features, real-time game alerts for their favorite school” the college sports organization states.

No word yet on exactly when these releases will come, so you will need to stay tuned for that.
