Earlier this month, Microsoft introduced the Lumia 640 and 640 XL at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. Both devices come with a similar set of specifications, minus a larger display and a better 13MP camera on the bigger version. However, it seems Microsoft is going to make further improvements for the Lumia 640 XL, at least for the 640 XL variant for China which will launch in China.
Recently, the TD-LTE version of the Lumia 640 XL with the model number RM-1096 was certified at TENAA, a certification body in China. The device spotted at the certification authority is quite different from the version introduced at the Mobile World Congress. As per specifications mentioned on the page, the handset in question comes with 2GB of RAM and a 2.2GHz quad-core processor on board. The listing doesn’t reveal which processor it is, but it’s not the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. This will offer users will improved performance, thanks to bump in the RAM and processor. Rest of the specifications are expected to be the same for now.
