Last year, Microsoft announced at BUILD that it was working with Apple to bring iTunes to the Microsoft Store. The initial release timeframe for iTunes arriving in the Microsoft Store was the end of 2017, however, that fell through and it was delayed, with Apple saying that they needed more time.
Now, a new update for the iTunes desktop program points to progress being made in releasing it on the Microsoft Store. A new file in the update, called iTunesUWP.dll (via IT Home), gives a sign that the release could be getting closer.
While there’s still no firm date, it shows that Apple is still working to bring its iTunes program to the Microsoft Store, which would allow Windows 10 S users to make use of it with their iOS devices.
