There seems to be an issue with the Windows Insider Program today. Many Skip Ahead and Fast Ring Insiders are currently receiving notifications warning them that their Windows Insider Settings have been reverted. We’re seeing the issue as well today on Fast Ring machines, and we actually keep receiving the following notification over and over:

Your Windows Insider Program content settings have been reverted. We did this because you selected Skip Ahead, but Skip Ahead is now closed. You’ll continue to receive updates as usual.

It’s still not clear if Skip Ahead Insiders seeing this message are actually being kicked out of this ring. Presumably, nothing should happen for Fast Ring Insiders who never joined Skip Ahead in the first place, and who are also seeing this notification today. Anyway, Windows Insider Chief Dona Sarkar has acknowledged the issue today and said that she was investigating:

We hope that a fix is coming soon and we’ll let you know as soon as we get more information about the issue. Are you also seeing this “reverted Insiders settings” notification today on your PC today? Let us know below.

Update: The Windows Insider has apparently fixed the issue on Friday, December 8. “There have been NO changes to your rings,” Dona Sarkar clarified in a tweet, which is good to know.
