Bing recently added features to go along with the United States upcoming midterm elections. Now, Bing has released ‘fresh and expanded’ aerial and StreetSide imagery to coincide with the elections. The imagery features national landmarks and state capitols across more than 20 United States cities.
Some of the more well-known ones include the Capitol Building in Washington, DC and the Independence Hall in Philadelphia; some of the lesser recognizable are the Colorado State Capitol in Denver and the Iowa State Capitol. The biggest area where Microsoft and the rest of the maps industry has let Google run away with is street view. Google, with Maps and Earth, has over the years accumulated an enormous amount of data and has built up a very extensive experience, bringing even the most inconvenient places to the web with its Trekkers. This street view experience is becoming more of a ‘must have’ than a ‘nice to have,’ so it is important Microsoft continues to release projects such as these.
