Age of Empires Definitive Edition

Twenty years after Age of Empires originally released, the game is making a comeback thanks to Microsoft Studios. The Age of Empires Definitive Edition was announced today at E3 2017 during the PC Gaming Show, promising to bring the fan favorite back into the spotlight in all its glory and then some.

Age of Empires Definitive Edition is being updated with fully remastered 4k graphics, major gameplay improvements, new narrative, Xbox Live multiplayer support, achievements, and a remastered soundtrack. The game will also include the original’s expansion DLC, Rise of Rome.

Furthermore, if you’re interested in getting your hands on the updated Age of Empires, you can sign up for the closed beta starting today. Currently, there aren’t any details about when this will take place, but joining the Age of Empires Insider Program will give you priority to try it out. The game in full is expected later this year.

More details will be revealed in time on its new ageofempires.com. However, the site is currently having technical difficulties for most visitors. No doubt, due to the high traffic of excited fans ready to revisit the game that started it all.
