Gears of War 4 players are anxious for what is being called the ‘biggest update ever’ coming next week. On Tuesday, June 6, the Rise of the Horde update will launch with tons of new content for its fans.
As you can imagine, Rise of the Horde for Gears of War 4 is about bolstering up the Horde Mode with new content. As such, it adds fifteen new Horde Skills, more loot, changes in how the game plays, twenty new achievements, and more challenges to overcome. Not to mention, boss waves of 30, 40, and 50 come with some of these new rare skills, at least three for each class.
Additionally, Gears of War 4 has two new difficulty levels for Campaign and Horde modes: Inconceivable and Ironman. The first makes you significantly weaker than Insane, but the latter makes you essentially a Survival style gameplay. Dying once in Ironman is the be all and end all.
You can tackle both of these difficulties in two new maps coming in Gears of War 4. Avalanche is the return of the Gears of War 2 map set in a mountainside resort with environmental, you guessed it, avalanche effects that could wipe you out. Gears of War 3 Rust Lung map is also making a return.
Gears of War 4 will also be on free Game Trial later this month running from June 9 to June 15. The full game will be available for 10 hours up to the first act of the single-player campaign and full access to multiplayer Horde/Versus game modes, including this update. Meanwhile, Gears of War 4 is on sale for 50% off during the event!
