With all the other new and exciting news announced at Microsoft Build 2017 today, Microsoft released Windows 10 SDK Preview build 16190. The Windows 10 Preview SDK build 16190 can be used with any Windows Insider Preview build (16190 or greater) and contains numerous bug fixes and other development changes to APIs.
Specific feedback and updates to the known issues with the Windows 10 SDK Preview build 16190 are available via the developer forum. If you are looking to request new features, use the Windows Platform UserVoice.
Microsoft wants you to take note of a couple of things before you download the new SDK:
- This build works in conjunction with previously released SDKs and Visual Studio 2017. You can install this SDK and still also continue to submit your apps that target Windows 10 Creators build or earlier to the store.
- The Windows SDK will now formally only be supported by Visual Studio 2017 and greater. You can download the Visual Studio 2017 here.
Here’s a look at the new controls that are available in the Windows 10 SDK Preview build 16190:
“NavigationView, TreeView, RatingsControl, ColorPicker, ParallaxView and PersonPicture to the Windows.UI.XAML.Controls namespace. It also adds brushes for Acrylic and Reveal, part of the Fluent Design System. See also the new XAML Controls Gallery in the Windows Universal Samples collection.”
