If you love listening to audiobooks, there’s a chance you’re an Audible subscriber. However, if you aren’t a fan of the walled garden of the popular audiobook service, you can download some free audiobooks on the Web as well as buy online or off the shelves.
All you need is an app to play those audiobooks, and Booxio is a pretty neat one available for Windows 10 as well as Windows 10 Mobile.
This recent arrival on Windows Store, still in beta, allows you to play audiobooks stored in your music folder or on your microSD card, and requires no in-app purchases and neither needs a subscription. The app features a timer and also saves your progress. There’s not much customization on offer except switching between a light and dark theme.
The UI is pretty neat, and the app offers a seamless and intuitive user experience for playing and managing your audiobooks. The UWP app is available for Windows 10 PCs, tablets, and smartphone. Give it a whirl if you’re an audiobooks fan, and let us know how you like it.
