Microsoft announced that is now rolling out a series of new emojis to all Windows 11 users. The rollout comes after a month of testing with Windows Insiders and should give Windows 11 users more ways to express themselves in messages.

To get these new emoji in Windows 11 today, you need to install this month’s optional November 2021 Windows 11 preview release. Simply open your Windows Update settings by going to Settings, Update & Security, and Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. Then hit Download and Install. Once installed, your PC will restart. It will take a few minutes, and you can then get to access the new emoji within the emoji picker with Windows Key + period.

As a reminder, these new emoji are all about fun, expression, and personality. The emoji are still 2D, but look a lot more lively than in past Windows versions. Yet, Microsoft says that it should feel “personal and familiar.” Some people, though, were upset over how “flat” the emojis look compared to the teaser released by the Microsoft design team.

What do you think of these emojis? Are you looking forward to using it with your coworkers in Teams, or other Microsoft services? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
