The MyTube Beta app has just updated to allow 1440p, 4K, and 8K video streaming on Microsoft’s newly released Xbox One X console.
MyTube Beta is, as its name suggests, the beta version of the main MyTube app that’s used for testing features to a smaller group of users. Most of the features tested in the beta app are eventually pushed out to the regular MyTube app which means that all users should soon have a 1440p, 4K, and 8K YouTube experience on their Xbox One X.
MyTube itself is a third-party YouTube app that updates on a very regular basis with a lot of functionality lacking in the official YouTube app. It’s also designed in the Universal Windows Platform app format which means that it also works on Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, Windows 10 PCs and tablets, and Microsoft’s HoloLens.
