No Man’s Sky Beyond heading to Xbox One on August 14th

No Man’s Sky, the space survival game that finally made its way to the Xbox One last year, will get another free content update next week. This will be the game’s 7th free update following the Abyss and Visions updates, and it will be released on August 14 on Xbox One and other platforms.

The founder of Hello Games, Sean Murray, explained on Xbox Wire that multiplayer was the main focus for this new content update:

Beyond brings with it, among a whole host of other features, a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players to meet and play together wherever they are in the universe. We took our inspiration from our favorite multiplayer games and MMOs, and, while we would never claim to be an MMO (this is a subscription-less, micro-transaction-free update, free for all existing players), we believe it has many elements familiar to fans of such games.

We don’t have all details for the Beyond update yet, and we’ll likely have to wait until August 14 to find out. If you have yet to try No Man’s Sky, the Xbox One version is currently priced at $49.99, and it’s also Xbox One X enhanced with support for 4K graphics and HDR.
