Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is official and launching later this year

Microsoft kicked off this month’s Inside Xbox episode with a new Xbox Game Pass subscription that leaked a couple of days ago. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the name of the all-in-one $14.99/month subscription that will combine Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, offering $5 of savings every month compared to what you would pay by subscribing to both services separately.

Xbox Game Pass currently provides unlimited access to a catalog of over 200 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games, while Xbox Live Gold is an older subscription that includes weekly Deals with Gold, four free Games with Gold every month, plus access to Xbox Live multiplayer. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with be available later this year, but Microsoft said today that it will provide early access to Xbox Insiders in select markets. UpdateXbox Insiders in Preview Alpha and Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead can now test Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting today, though please note that the new subscription is currently only available to English speaking Xbox Insiders in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
