Last week, users had problems accessing Xbox Live and login.live.com (for logging in to your Microsoft account), and it looks like the problem has reared its ugly head once again.
Currently, the Xbox Status page is reporting limited services for Core Services and Purchase and Content Usage:
Accessing login.live.com was unavailable just a few minutes ago, but it seems to have recovered, so hopefully the service is coming back online.
