If you are on Verizon’s nationwide network and using a Nokia Lumia 928 or Nokia Lumia 822 – we have some great news for you. Big Red has begun to rollout Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 for its Microsoft loving customers. In addition, the update will be packaged with Lumia Denim, the latest firmware for Lumia Windows Phones.
Windows 8.1 brings a collection of new features including virtual assistant Cortana, new start screen customization, Microsoft’s Word Flow keyboard, a pull down “Action Center”, and much more. In addition to new features, Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 includes overall performance and bug fixes.
Happy Holidays WP users on Verizon! The 928 and 922 updates (WP8.1 + Denim) go live today and the ICON is on deck for early 2015.

If you are eager to grab the latest update for your Nokia Lumia 928 or Nokia Lumia 822, you can manually begin the download by heading to Settings, then Phone Updates. Remember that the update is gradually rolling out, so you may not have immediate access.
Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore also stated that the Lumia ICON on Verizon will be receiving the same updates “early 2015”, so just stick it out a bit longer – the wait is well worth it.
