Here is our Xbox 2022 wrap up

Hard as it is to believe, 2022 is about to come to a close. As we get ready to ring in a new year it’s good to take a look back at the year in Xbox games for 2022. While it wasn’t the greatest year for first-party releases from Xbox Game Studios (and that’s putting it kindly) there were still plenty of exciting third-party releases.

Below is a rundown of some of the biggest Xbox games in 2022, in so specific order. Bear in mind that this Xbox 2022 wrap up is in no way meant to be an all-inclusive list of the best Xbox games in 2022; instead, think of it as a highlight reel. We’ve included Xbox Store links for your convenience.

Grounded

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is an always-on and ever-evolving free-to-play, team-based action game set in an optimistic future, where every match is the ultimate 5v5 battlefield brawl. Team up with friends and dive into the reimagined PvP experience as a time-jumping freedom fighter, a beat-dropping battlefield DJ, or one of over 30 other unique heroes as you battle it out around the globe.

Tunic

Explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers, and ferocious monsters in TUNIC, an isometric action game about a small fox on a big adventure. High on Life

Deathloop

Xbox 2022 wrap up…um, wrap up

So there you have it—our Xbox 2022 wrap up. All in all Xbox had a pretty strong 2022 despite a dearth of AAA first-party releases. This is largely thanks to Game Pass, which continues to strengthen its position as the best gaming service out there. And 2023 is shaping up to be the best year yet for the next gen Series X|S console, with several AAA releases on the slate from Xbox Game Studios and others including Forza Motorsport, Redfall, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Atomic Heart, Minecraft Legends, Dead Island 2, Diablo IV, Street Fighter 6, Dead Space Remake, and of course Starfield.
