Cal app for Windows Phone 8 receives a big update, new theme and more

Cal for Windows Phone

Cal is very popular and minimalist calendar application, which recently made its way to the Windows Phone Store. Recently, the application received a massive update, bumping it to version 1.1.  The latest update brings several performance optimizations, bug features and a bunch of new features.

“Cal is the best calendar app in the market. Its a beautiful and easy to use calendar which features a gorgeous Live tile and connects to your Microsoft, Google and even Facebook account,” the app description reads.

The latest update fixed many bugs that were plaguing the app since its launch, including Facebook sync issues, calendars disappearing from the application and more. It comes with performance improvements to improve the overall experience of the application. Additionally, it introduces new features including the ability to choose font, new light theme, week view in the calendar and more. Here’s a complete list of features introduced in Cal version 1.1:

  • Custom calendar colors
  • Week view
  • Today button
  • Choose font (default/WP)
  • Light theme
  • Use phone accent color as app accent color
  • Fast app resume
  • Performance optimizations
  • Fixed Facebook sync bug
  • Fixed calendars disappearing
  • Fixed Live tile not updating when using a background image
  • Fixed problems with manual sync
