Alleged Windows 10 retail packaging box art leaks onto the internet

As we all know, Microsoft is set to release Windows 10 on July 29th. While the majority of you will likely be upgrading to the new operating system for free, there are still some of you who may be interested in purchasing the operating system from a retail store — whether it be on a DVD or USB thumb drive. Apparently, new images of the retail packaging have leaked onto the internet (courtesy of Winfuture).

As you can see from the image above, the box art is very simple — Windows 10 Home gets a blue color scheme while Windows 10 Pro gets a purple color scheme. Both boxes feature the new Hero wallpaper. However, these images still make us think “hmmm” in regards to authenticity, so we are labeling this as a rumor for now. The box shots feature graphics that are old and not of great quality. After all, this is preliminary marketing material, so it would make sense if the final design is slightly different. Keep that in mind and let us know below if you plan to purchase a boxed copy of Windows 10.
