Grammarly expands its reach, comes to Microsoft Word on Mac and Word Online

Grammarly has long been available on all the major web browsers as an extension, or as an add-in for Microsoft Word on Windows but it is now expanding its reach. After many months of anticipation and feedback from users, Grammarly is now finally coming to Microsoft Word on Mac and also Word Online.

Much like the browser extension, Grammarly on Word on Mac and Word Online is designed to help improve and fit with the way you write. It can be installed in a few seconds, and as you type out your documents in Word on Mac, you’ll get feedback on the right side of the page, without having to lose your focus. Suggestions for making your writing cleaner, improving your word choice, all will show up right when you need it.

Grammarly is free to use for correcting critical grammar and spelling checks as well as checking for conciseness. A monthly, quarterly, or annual premium plan is also available. Paid plans add suggestions on how to improve reliability, vocabulary, as well as check for plagiarism from more than 16 billion web pages.

The news comes just one day after Microsoft launched its own Grammar tool called Microsoft Editor. Much like Grammarly, Microsoft Editor is an intelligent AI-powered writing assistant. It works across Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. Microsoft is also planning on integrating the Editor feature in Word, too, but some more advanced features will only be available for subscribers of the new Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans.
