Microsoft Word has received a bunch of features in the past couple of months that are designed to enhance the user’s experience, for instance, the Review Mode feature. Word for web also got a comment “like” feature, and Word on the web’s dark mode hit general availability.

And now, yet again, Microsoft is releasing a new feature for both Word and PowerPoint for the web users that will let them insert pictures directly from their Android phones. Previously, the process was tedious and took up a lot of time. The good news is that Microsoft has now incorporated a new Insert picture from mobile device command that will help you achieve this task in a jiffy.

To use this feature to insert images on either a document or presentation from your Android device, select Insert > Pictures > Mobile Device. A QR code will then appear, which you can scan using your Android phone’s camera or QR code scanner. However, you will need to have the Link to Windows app, otherwise, you will be redirected to Google Playstore to facilitate the download.

From this point, you can now pair your Android device with your school or work account by following the on-screen instructions. After successfully completing this process, you will now be able to insert images directly from your Android device directly to your Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.

Finally, you need to ensure that you have an active Microsoft 365 subscription, an Android Phone and if you are using the Firefox browser, ensure that you re using Version104.0 or later.

Let us know what you think about the feature in the comment section.
