Xiaomi reportedly working on a Windows 10 tablet, expected to launch by the end of third quarter

According to a new rumor (via GSMArena), Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new Windows 10 tablet which will see the light of the day by the end of the third quarter. The news comes from a known Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang who revealed that a Windows 10 tablet is in the pipeline. Unfortunately, he failed to mention if it will run a full fledged Windows 10 or will come with Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft requires the full Windows 10 installation on devices larger than 8″.

Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturer in China. The company already has some  Android tablets under its portfolio, but it seems we may get to see Windows receive some love from the company, with the Chinese OEM entering into a partnership with Microsoft to run Windows 10 on smartphones.

We’ve already heard that the company is testing it with a select group of Mi4 users. Even Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore confirmed yesterday that the Windows Insiders program for Xiaomi phones will kick off in the next few weeks, so there’s a possibility that we may see a Windows 10 tablet from the company.

There’s no official work from Xiaomi about the existence of any such tablet, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. Stay tuned, we’ll let you guys know as soon as we hear anything about it.
