Microsoft’s Xbox 360 entertainment console remains the top-selling gaming console in the United States for yet another month, marking 30 consecutive months of success for the company. This trend of dominance continues over the console’s main competitors, the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3.

According to new data from NPD, Microsoft’s Xbox sold 140,000 consoles during the month of June. This was more than any other platform out there, including the Wii and PS3. June also marked the 30th consecutive month of dominance against the Wii and PS3 in the United States.

In an official blog post, Microsoft was proud to reveal that total Xbox 360 spending during the month of June was $197 million dollars. This included hardware, software, and accessories for the console and was more than any console in the United States. The Xbox 360 also held seven of the top ten gaming titles, including “Minecraft,” “NBA 2K13,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Deadpool,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” “Grand Theft Auto IV” and “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”

The successor to the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, is set for release in November of this year and the new console has already seen “impressive pre-order sales” according to Microsoft. “In fact, Xbox One pre-sales are trending ahead of Xbox 360 during the same time period,” Microsoft proudly revealed.

Long live the Xbox 360!
