Windows Phone users can now set specific times to install updates

\

Ever been in a situation where you read about that highly anticipated new update for your Windows Phone finally being released, but you were in no condition to go through with the update as you actually needed a functional phone at hand? Yeah, well, you’re not alone, and Microsoft has found a way to work around that issue in the new update for Windows Phone.

\

For those enrolled in the Preview for Developers program for Windows Phone, a new update (build 14203) was released yesterday, and along with a new real-time Live Tile for the Battery Saver app, Microsoft has also included the ability to schedule phone updates.

\

This allows users to set a specific time for your phone to install updates, which you can set for periods that you know you won’t be using the phone, like during the night when you’ll be sleeping. That way you wake up in the morning to the pleasant surprise of a newly installed update waiting to be explored.

\

The ‘preferred install time’ option can be found under Settings, then Phone Update.
