Windows 10 now on 350 million devices

Microsoft has just announced that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be dropping to all Windows 10 users on August 2nd, 2016. Alongside with this announcement, the company also detailed that over 350 million devices are now running Windows 10.

This is just the latest milestone for Windows 10. Just about a month ago on May 5th the Redmond giant revealed that 300 million devices were running the latest Windows operating system.  Additionally, and along with the 350 million device statistic, Microsoft is noting that, ” customer engagement is also incredible in Windows 10,” with more than 135 billion hours of use.

These statistics are perhaps no doubt proof that Microsoft customers around the world are being more productive and having fun with Windows 10. However, with the Anniversary Update impending, it will be interesting to see how these statistics change over the next few months.

While not exactly scientific, by our basic mathematical calculations , this 50 million uptake in Windows 10 installs in just the last seven weeks, means that about 1,020,408 installs happen every day for the last 49 days. Again, by our calculations of dividing total reported installs by days passed, this is a bit higher rate than the approximately 833,333 installs which happened between the 36 days of March 30th (270 million installs) and May 5th (300 million installs.) While this hints at a somewhat faster adoption rate, there are many other factors that go into Microsoft’s statistics, and our numbers are just an estimate.

As always, we would love to hear your thoughts on this latest set of official Windows 10 statistics. So, be sure  Be sure to stay tuned to WinBeta for all the Windows 10 news and information, and be sure to drop us a comment below!
