It’s pretty late in Redmond right now, far later than usual for a new build release, but it appears build 14342 for desktop is rolling out to Insiders on the fast ring. Gabe Aul has not made an official announcement about this build, and has in fact said that there would not be a new build arriving today. Curiously however, a number of Insiders (including me) appear to be receiving new bits as we speak.

If you’re an Insider on the fast ring, make sure you check for updates right now to see if the build is being offered to you. Only one of my insider machines are seeing the bits, and with no official announcement in sight it’s not entirely clear if build 14342 is supposed to be out just yet.

Since there’s no official announcement, we don’t even know what’s new or what’s fixed. Regardless, stay tuned at WinBeta for more regarding today’s surprise build!

Update: Gabe Aul has said the build was published by accident, however this build is safe to install. Full rollout will now commence.
