Over the weekend, Microsoft released a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 3. Though fairly minor, it addresses some potential vulnerability issues and helps with overall device security (via MSPoweruser.)
There are a total of three updates which will be showing for those with Surface Pro 3 running the Windows 10 Creators Update or higher. Microsoft did not document this changelog on the Surface Pro 3 Update history page just yet, but that is not unusual.
- Surface – Firmware – 3 . 11 . 2550 . 0 – Resolves potential security and vulnerability issues.
- Surface – Firmware – 38.14.80
- Surface – System – 2.0.1350
These should be showing up automatically, but you can also find them for download on the Microsoft website right here. Surface Pro 3 last saw a similar security update just last month, then to protect against Spectre and Meltdown. Other Surface devices including the Surface Book 2, Surface Pro, and Surface Studio, last saw updates in August. The Surface Laptop was last updated alongside the Surface Pro 4 in July, then for overall system stability.
