New Windows Insider head Dona Sarkar already released a mobile build, hints at PC build coming next – onmsft.com

Well that didn’t take long. Yesterday afternoon the much beloved head of the Windows Insider program, Gabe Aul, announced that he’s stepping aside to spend more time on his “real” job, working on the the tools Microsoft engineers use to build Windows.

In his place steps Dona Sarkar, a Microsoft engineer most recently working on the HoloLens developer experience, and it’s already been a whirlwind. Last night, Sarkar “hustled” the Windows engineering team to release a new mobile build, and already today she’s hinting at more to come:

Already done! Now time to go get my #WindowsInsider posse some PC <3.

— Dona Sarkar (@donasarkar) June 2, 2016

Sarkar has been active on Twitter (you can follow her @DonaSarkar), revealing that she uses a Lumia 950, and speaks a little Spanish. Even in her first (less than) 24 hours, Sarkar has breathed a new sense of excitement into the Windows Insider program, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store (and can’t wait for a new PC build!).

We’re going to miss Gabe, not that he’s really going anywhere, but Windows 10 looks like it’s lucky to have such a capable and fun new leader. Good luck, Dona!
