Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for its new Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Pro X tablet. It’s the second wave of firmware updates for these new Surface devices since their October release.
The Intel and AMD-based versions of the Surface Laptop 3 are getting a different set updates, but the list of fixes is quite important. You can check out the full details below:
Surface Laptop 3 with Intel processor:
- Intel(R) iCLS Client – Software components: 1.57.263.0 improves integration between system services.
- Realtek High Definition Audio – Sound, video, and game controller: 6.0.8812.1 improves Cortana speech experience.
- Realtek Device Extension: 6.1.0.1 improves integration between system services.
- Realtek Hardware Support Application – Software components: 11.0.6000.92 improves audio performance.
- Surface Integration – System devices: 19.60.139.0 improves integration between system services.
- Surface Keyboard – Firmware: 14.17.139.0 improves system stability.
- Surface ME – Firmware: 13.0.1312.4 improves stability with USB-C scenarios.
- Surface System Aggregator – Firmware: 14.42.139.0 improves driver installation servicing.
- Surface UEFI – Firmware: 6.22.140.0 improves system stability.
Surface Laptop 3 with AMD processor:
- AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 9 Graphics / AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 11 Graphics – Display adapters: 26.20.12027.5004 improves graphics performance and improves system bugcheck performance.
- AMD GPIO Controller – System devices: 2.2.0.124 improves integration between system services.
- Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth: 10.0.0.926 improves system stability.
- Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter: 12.0.0.926 improves system stability.

Microsoft’s ARM-based Surface Pro X is also getting some important updates to improve system stability, WiFi speeds, as well as connectivity issues and USB-C monitors. Moreover, these updates enable one-click Bluetooth swift pairing. You can check out the full list of changes below:

- Surface Pen Cfu Over BleLc Extn Package: 1.65.137.0 improves Slim Pen battery life by resolving the charging issue.
- Surface Pro X Bluetooth UART Transport Driver NVM Extension: 7500.1.25.1 enables one-click Bluetooth swift-pairing.
- Surface Pro X Qualcomm(R) All-Ways Aware(TM) Hub – Sensors: 2865.5.0.0 improves system stability resuming from hibernate.
- Qualcomm(R) Wi-Fi B/G/N/AC (2×2) Svc – Network adapters: 1.0.770.0 improves Wi-Fi speed.
- Surface System Aggregator – Firmware: 14.58.139.0 improves single external monitor performance.
There are no new firmware updates for the Surface Pro 7 for now, but we’ll let you know if that changes in the near future. Keep in mind that Surface updates are released in stages, so don’t worry if you’re seeing anything yet in Windows Update.
