Surface Pro X could come with both Intel and Arm variants this fall – onmsft.com

Back in 2019, Microsoft launched Surface Pro X, the first ARM tablet since the Surface 2, running Windows RT. The Pro X spurred mixed feelings among its users, mostly because of its SQ1 processor as well as the limits of Windows 10 on ARM. However, the device has since evolved, like July’s update that mainly focused on boosting Wi-Fi performance, as well as the camera.

It seems that there are major changes in store for Surface Pro X, as spotted by Windows Central’s Zac Bowden:

Been hearing from my sources for a while now that MS is planning to merge the Surface Pro X under the main Surface Pro line this fall, meaning the Surface Pro “9” will be available in both Intel and ARM flavors for the first time. Big milestone for WoA!

With this in place, the Surface Pro “9” will be available with x86 or ARM flavors processors the first time ever. We should learn more soon as a Fall Surface event has been widely rumored, although not officially announced.
