Microsoft and the country of Ireland have had a lengthy history, including 30 years of operations, a data disclosure case and some tangential involvement in the companies tax measures. Now it looks like Microsoft is further solidifying its ties with the country by upping its total employee count in the area by 160. Microsoft’s search for 100 professional employees and 60 additional interns bolsters its current 1,200 employee roster in Dublin, Ireland.

The Irish Times is reporting that Microsoft is looking for people to fill roles such as service, process, and software engineers, data analytics experts, program managers, finance experts, and many more. The new positions will most likely work across the four divisions that operate in Dublin area for Microsoft.

In a statement to the Irish Times, managing director of Microsoft Ireland, Cathriona Hallahan describes the type of employees the company is hoping to acquire through its newly established job hunt.

The type of people we are looking to attract should be creative thinkers with a growth mindset, passionate about technology innovation, customer-obsessed, and interested in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The roles that we’re recruiting for are diverse and demonstrate the breadth of opportunities available when working with a technology leader. In particular, our engineering roles span Windows, Office, Dynamics and Azure Cloud Services.”

In addition to the new jobs, Microsoft is also investing roughly 134 million into building a new centralized campus for its employees. The news Microsoft’s Ireland job hunt stands juxtaposed to many of its more recent actions of cutting jobs and shuffling of management to keep the company lean and driven. Perhaps, Microsoft is taking a pause on job cutting and looking to re-establish its international presence.
