Microsoft has today said that they expect over 1 billion Windows 10 devices to be in consumers hands within 2-3 years of launching the operating system. That’s a crazy big number, and would make Windows 10 one of the fastest growing operating systems in the world.
Windows 10 is on track for launch this summer. Meaning by summer 2018, the company expects Windows 10 to be literally everywhere. With the free upgrade from Windows 7 and Windows 8 to Windows 10, this number shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve.
Developers will flock to Windows 10 if Microsoft can get 1 billion devices running to Windows 10 in free years. So all in all, we hope Microsoft is right when they make this claim.
