Good news for Xbox One owners, Far Cry 3, the critically-acclaimed shooter from Ubisoft, is joining the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list today. The game was released on the Xbox 360 back in 2012, and it pushed the franchise to the next level with its vivid open-world setting, great gameplay and unforgettable villain.

The game was recently discounted during Ubisoft’s latest Publisher Sale, but you can currently purchase it for $19.99 on the Xbox Store. The official description notes:

Far beyond the reach of civilization is a mysterious island overrun with violence and suffering. While traveling with friends, you are taken captive and brutalized. Your only hope of survival lies in unraveling the dark secrets of the island and its deranged inhabitants. Alone at the edge of the world, where nothing is what it seems, you must find a way to fight back and escape this island of insanity.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a standalone expansion set a retro-futuristic world also became backward compatible on the Xbox One last year. If you love shooters and have yet to try these games, both titles are highly recommended.
