Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced yesterday that he will attend the 21st Microsoft CEO Summit in Seattle next week (via The Seattle Times) . For those unfamiliar, this annual event brings together more than 140 CEOs from the world’s leading companies to discuss the future of global business.
This year, the summit will be held on May 17 and 18 and the main theme will be “The CEO Agenda: Navigating Change.” According to the press release, the Canadian Prime Minister will participate to “promote the Cascadia Innovation Corridor, encourage investment in the Canadian technology sector, and draw global talent to Canada.” Trudeau will also meet with Washington Governor Jay Inslee.
“Canada is recognized as a world leader in research and development in many areas like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and 3D programming,” said Trudeau in a statement. “Our government will continue to help Canadian businesses grow and create good, well-paying middle-class jobs in today’s high-tech economy,” he added.
