Call of Duty: Ghosts is first Xbox 360 game to be available digitally on launch day

CoD: Ghosts

Xbox 360 hasn’t been known to offer games digitally on launch day, so the fact that Call of Duty: Ghosts is available for download right now from the Xbox Games Store is indeed something to talk about. The Playstation 3 has been offering digital downloads for games on launch day for a while now, the Xbox 360 has been offering digital downloads for games ‘after’ they launch. Today, CoD: Ghosts is the first Xbox 360 game to be offered in the store on launch day.

One of the reasons why CoD: Ghosts is available digitally is due to the upgrade program in which Microsoft is offering players who purchase CoD: Ghosts for Xbox 360 a $10 upgrade to the Xbox One version when it launches. The Xbox One version will too be a digital download. It’s a pretty swell deal if you ask us.

You can download Call of Duty: Ghosts via the Xbox Games Store on your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com right now. The download is a hefty 7GB in size, so make sure you have enough room on your hard drive to play.
